GoBigCAD — Bigger Ideas. Better Products.
About GoBigCAD

Engineering support
for ideas that need to be built

GoBigCAD works on the mechanical engineering and product-development side of building physical products: CAD modeling, engineering drawings, DFM review and the documentation a manufacturer needs to actually produce a part correctly.

We exist because that stage of product development — translating a concept into files a factory can build from — is where a lot of good ideas either get stuck or get expensive mistakes baked in early.

How We Work

Principles that guide every project

Manufacturing-aware from the first feature

We model with the target manufacturing process in mind from the start, not as a review step after the design is 'done.' Wall thickness, draft and tolerance get considered while modeling — it's cheaper to design it right than to redesign after a failed DFM check.

Documentation you can act on

A model that only we can interpret isn't a deliverable. Drawings are toleranced clearly, feature trees are organized logically, and files export cleanly to whatever your manufacturer or team already uses.

Honest about scope and limitations

If a format can't be reliably parsed, a timeline is unrealistic, or a request needs capabilities outside mechanical engineering, we'll say so directly. No overpromising, no scope creep surprises.

The Team

You talk to the engineers doing the work

No account managers. No rotating teams. When you work with GoBigCAD, you communicate directly with the engineers designing your product.

Scope

What GoBigCAD does and doesn't cover

GoBigCAD works alongside your chosen manufacturers, prototyping services and, where relevant, regulatory consultants — we don't replace them. Here's exactly what's in scope.

What we cover

  • Parametric mechanical CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
  • Engineering drawings with GD&T tolerancing
  • DFM review for injection molding, CNC, sheet metal
  • Reverse engineering from physical parts or scan data
  • Prototype-ready files for 3D printing and CNC
  • STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ and GLB export
  • Assembly modeling and BOM generation
  • Injection mold tooling-aware design

Outside our scope

  • Formal FEA / FEM certification
  • Electrical engineering or PCB design
  • Firmware and software development
  • Regulatory clearance (FDA, CE, UL)
  • Physical manufacturing or production
  • Structural civil engineering

For projects requiring these capabilities, we'll be upfront and help you find the right resource.

Let's build it properly

Tell us about your project and we'll send a clear, fixed-scope proposal.
