Product Development
From a sketch, a reference part, or a rough idea to a manufacturable product.
Overview
Most product ideas stall between 'we know roughly what we want' and 'we have files a factory can quote.' That gap is where GoBigCAD works: we take a concept — a sketch, a napkin drawing, a competitor product you want to improve on, or an existing prototype — and carry it through mechanical design, engineering review and manufacturing preparation.
We work as an extension of your team rather than a black-box vendor. You get visibility into design decisions, trade-offs on material and process selection, and a documented rationale for the choices that affect cost, strength, tolerancing and manufacturability.
Engagements typically start with a scoping call to understand function, target manufacturing process, volume, budget and timeline, followed by a fixed-scope proposal so you know what you're getting before work starts.
Who this is for
- Founders and startups turning a concept into a sellable physical product
- Companies extending an existing product line with a new SKU
- Teams that have a working prototype but need it engineered for volume production
- In-house teams needing overflow engineering capacity for a specific project

FAQ
Do I need finished sketches before we start?
No. Rough sketches, reference products, or a verbal description of function are enough to start a scoping conversation. We'll help translate that into a concrete design brief.
Can you work with our in-house engineering team instead of owning the whole project?
Yes. A large share of our work is overflow or specialist support for teams that already have engineering staff but need extra capacity or specific CAD/DFM expertise for a project.
Who owns the IP and CAD files?
You do. Deliverable files and design IP transfer to you on project completion, under the terms agreed in your proposal.
