Engineering Drawings

GD&T-toleranced 2D drawings that manufacturers and QA teams can actually use.

Overview

A 3D model tells a manufacturer what a part looks like. A drawing tells them what actually matters — which dimensions are critical, what tolerance is required, what finish is expected, and how the part should be inspected. Without that, quotes vary wildly and incoming parts get accepted or rejected inconsistently.

We produce dimensioned, GD&T-toleranced drawings following ASME Y14.5 conventions, sized to what the part actually needs: tight tolerances only where function requires them, and general tolerances everywhere else, so manufacturing isn't priced for precision nobody needs.

Drawings are produced from your CAD (ours or yours) and can be scoped as a standalone service for teams that already have finished 3D models but need proper manufacturing documentation.

Who this is for

  • Teams with finished 3D CAD but no formal drawings for manufacturing or QA
  • Companies getting inconsistent manufacturer quotes due to unclear specifications
  • Anyone needing GD&T applied correctly rather than 'dimensions everywhere'

Process

01

Criticality review

Identify which dimensions and features actually drive fit and function.

02

Drawing creation

Dimensioned views, tolerances, GD&T callouts, notes and title block.

03

Cross-check

Verify the drawing matches CAD and is internally consistent.

FAQ

Can you draw from CAD that wasn't built by GoBigCAD?

Yes, as long as the CAD is in a format we can open or import (native formats where supported, or STEP/IGES). We'll confirm compatibility during scoping.
