Mechanical Engineering

Engineering judgment applied to material selection, tolerancing and structural design.

Overview

Not every project needs full product development — sometimes you need a specific engineering question answered: will this bracket hold the load, will this snap-fit survive repeated cycles, why does this assembly bind, what tolerance actually matters here.

We provide focused mechanical engineering support: material selection against load, environment and cost; tolerance stack-up analysis so toleranced parts actually assemble; and structural review to catch failure modes before they show up in a prototype.

This service is commonly used alongside 3D CAD Design and DFM work, but is also available as a standalone consulting engagement for teams with their own CAD resources.

Who this is for

  • Teams with an existing design that has a specific structural or fit problem
  • Companies choosing between materials or manufacturing processes
  • Projects needing tolerance stack-up analysis before tooling investment

Process

01

Problem definition

Understand the failure mode, constraint or open question precisely.

02

Analysis

Hand calculations, tolerance stack-up, or simplified structural checks as appropriate.

03

Recommendation

A specific, actionable recommendation with the reasoning behind it.

04

Design update

Implement the fix in CAD and drawings if the engagement includes it.

FAQ

Do you do full FEA simulation?

We apply classical mechanical engineering analysis and simplified structural checks appropriate to most product-development decisions. For projects requiring certified FEA/FEM simulation, we'll tell you upfront whether that's in scope or should be sourced separately, rather than presenting an informal check as a substitute.
